iQstor Adds Automated Remote Replication to iQ2850 Storage System, Extending Affordable Disaster Recovery
to Rapidly Growing iSCSI SAN Market
Remote Replication Functionality Delivers Automatic Backup and Disaster Protection Benefits to iQstor Customers
Newbury Park, Calif. - October 23, 2008 - iQstor Networks, Inc., a leading developer of intelligent and integrated Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, today announced new data protection capabilities for its all-inclusive iQ2850 IP SAN storage system, making affordable disaster recovery available to the rapidly growing iSCSI SAN market. The iQ2850 has expanded its standard set of features to include automated remote replication capabilities, providing businesses of all sizes with automatic back-up and disaster protection of critical information.
With iQstor’s iQ2850, business data can be created and stored around the corner, across town or around the globe for the rapid and reliable backup and data protection, providing customers with a robust and scalable long distance solution for business continuity, disaster recovery and data protection applications. The iQ2850 with Asynchronous Remote Replication (RRA) creates instant, point-in-time consistent copies that are automatically transported to the designated location and managed through a simple, intuitive interface, creating an all-in-one storage solution that eliminates the need for add-on server-based software purchases and costly integration. Using RRA, companies can easily extend their storage infrastructures via iSCSI to setup secondary remote storage locations anywhere in the world, without distance limitations.
"Getting data off site and into a protected system is at the very heart of an effective business continuity plan", said Jason Lo, president and CEO of iQstor Networks. "Our iQ2850 with automated remote replication makes it easy for customers to extend SAN technology beyond the data center to provide superior protection of data in a simple, cost effective package."
The iQstor iQ2850 is a scalable, self-managing, iSCSI storage array with enterprise-level features including volume management-based virtualization, snapshot, volume-copy, remote replication, policy-based capacity expansion, database agents and multipath driver that is both affordable and simple to use. Each iQ2850 supports up to fifteen 1TB SATA drives providing 15TB of redundant, fault tolerant storage capacity or 6TB using 400GB FC4 drives, and scales to 240TB SATA or 96TB FC through connectivity with the J2880 SBOD disk enclosure. Other features of the iQ2850 include hot-swappable and fully redundant controllers, power supplies, fan modules and disk drives. With the addition of automated remote replication, the iQ2850 provides IT managers the ability to optimize both the data protection capabilities and cost effectiveness of their storage deployments by moving important data over IP networks using block-level storage systems to create and manage heterogeneous environments.
