iQstor to Demonstrate iQ2850 iSCSI Storage System at FOSE 2008
iQ2850 Offers IP SAN for Government Applications with Ease-of-Use, Lower Cost and Integrated Data Protection Features
Newbury Park, Calif. - March 25, 2008 - iQstor Networks, Inc., a leading developer of intelligent and integrated Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, announced today that they will demonstrate the new iQ2850 iSCSI storage system at FOSE 2008 -- the nation’s premier technology event for government -- in booth #2611, to be held on April 1-3 in the Washington DC Convention Center.
The iQ2850 iSCSI storage system is an intelligent storage system which deploys existing technology from the company’s successful iQ2880. The iQ2850 includes enterprise-class features such as storage virtualization, snapshot, mirroring, remote replication, storage provisioning and policy-driven capacity growth and adds the capability to easily install within current data center network infrastructures, eliminating the need to invest in extra training and additional resources to implement and administer an iSCSI IP SAN.
"iSCSI-based IP SANs have become very popular in large and medium-sized organizations and we are also seeing strong adoption in smaller organizations due to increased interest in server consolidation together with iSCSI-based storage consolidation," said Jason Lo, president and CEO of iQstor Networks."iSCSI is now an acceptable choice for consolidating servers and offering storage services for virtual server environments."
iQ2850’s integrated data protection and management features combined with its affordability and the ability to fit in existing high-speed Ethernet infrastructures, enables IT administrators to easily implement and manage efficient and cost-effective storage networks. Each iQ2850 offers eight iSCSI host ports and supports up to fifteen 1TB SATA drives providing 15TB of storage capacity or 6TB using 400GB FC4 drives, and can scale to 240TB SATA or 96TB FC through connectivity with the J2880 SBOD disk expansion enclosure. The new iQ2850 will also feature hardware TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) processor that shifts iSCSI processing off the main CPU, dual parity engines per each controller, battery backup and RAID levels 0, 1, 1+0, 3, 5 and 6. Other features of the iQ2850 include hot-swappable and fully redundant controllers, power supplies, fan modules and disk drives.
