iQstor to Demonstrate iQ2280 4Gb FC-SATA II Storage Platform
at FOSE 2006
iQ2280 - Industry’s First All-in-One 4Gb FC-SATA II Eases Support Issues
For Government Applications
Newbury Park, CA - February 28, 2006 - iQstor Networks, Inc., a leading developer of intelligent and integrated Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, announced today that they will demonstrate the new iQ2280 4Gb Fibre Channel (FC) to Serial ATA II (SATA II) storage platform at FOSE 2006, the nation’s premier technology event for government, in the Washington Convention Center in booth #746. iQstor’s government sector channel partner, San Clemente, CA based Ajava Systems, will also be present at booth #746 addressing the requirements of government clients.
“We are pleased to represent iQstor and their new iQ2280 at this year’s FOSE,” said Ajava’s President Prithvi Chauhan. “Our team is committed to delivering the highest quality storage solutions and service to our government clients and the iQ2280, with its rich feature set, high reliability and ease-of-use, has set a new standard for price vs. performance. Moreover, it integrates proven enterprise-level features with cost-effective SATA II disk drives, providing the government community with strong investment protection while being extremely cost-competitive.”
The iQ2280 Storage System, housed in a 19” 3U rack mountable enclosure supports up to 15 SATA II disk drives providing 7.5TB of storage capacity using 500 GB drives and touts a 3 Gb/s disk data transfer rate. To ease support issues while ensuring constant data protection and delivery, all key internal components are hot-swappable and redundant. The storage platform features dual active-active storage controllers with transparent fail-over, 4 x 4Gb/s FC host ports, and RAID 0, 1, 1+0, 3, 5, 50 and 6. Further, as storage management requirements evolve, users have the option of enabling the iQ2280’s enhanced data services via an embedded wizard-based configuration and management GUI that gives instant access to the optional embedded data services including storage virtualization, snapshot, mirroring, remote replication, storage provisioning and automated capacity growth. The storage platform also supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ).
“iQstor’s iQ2280 addresses the government client’s concern about pre and post sales product installation and support,” added Jason Lo, president and CEO of iQstor Networks. “The iQ2280 delivers a robust and economical storage solution with the availability, manageability, data integrity and enterprise-level functionality that until now have been only available to enterprise users. The iQ2280 is a strong validation of our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation and will give Ajava Systems’ government clients a large investment return while significantly lowering their total-cost-of-ownership.”
