iQstor to Discuss “Where Should Storage Intelligence Reside?” in Network Storage Conference 2004 Session
iQstor Also to Announce and Demonstrate a New Entry-Level SAN at the Conference Newbury Park, Calif. – February 23, 2004 – iQstor Networks, Inc., developer of integrated Fibre Channel Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, announced that Swee-Gin Leong, will be discussing the impact of storage intelligence – and most importantly, where end-users need it to reside -- at the Network Storage 2004 conference on March 8, 2004. Leong is vice president of engineering for California-based iQstor.
Part of the two-day conference that analyzes and debates new architectural processes in network storage and storage management, the session will explore the ins and outs of where storage intelligence should be based, and Leong’s session is included in a larger examination of architectural trends that will feature topics from a range of storage networking executives and thought leaders.
“Storage intelligence will exist and evolve at all levels, but in the end, it must deliver business value, plain and simple,” Swee-Gin Leong, vice president of engineering, iQstor Networks, said. “As we witness the back and forth debate between companies in this contentious issue, one thing becomes clear – to be widely embraced and adopted, storage intelligence should be located to best meet customer needs, delivering the right performance and the right price.”
Leong’s viewpoint has been shaped by over 20 years of IT industry experience in operating systems, storage software and hardware development, and expertise in forming strategic technology alliances domestically and internationally. His work with iQstor has resulted in the embedding of storage management and data services into the storage processors, making enterprise-level data services such as storage virtualization, snapshot, mirroring, remote replication, and policy-based storage provisioning affordable for the small and mid-size market.
iQstor will be announcing a new affordable and highly intelligent storage solution with industry’s lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) at the conference.
“iQstor’s work in embedding intelligence in their integrated storage system brings a badly needed solution at a cost-effective price point they can implement today,” Farid Neema, president, Peripheral Concepts, and chairman of the Network Storage 2004 conference, said. Neema organized the Network Storage conference in 1994 and has been a driving force throughout the show’s decade-long existence. “iQstor has focused on creating solutions that bring enterprise level features down to the reach of IT professionals at small and mid-sized business,” continued Neema, “and the real-world observations of Swee-Gin Leong regarding storage intelligence promises to be very rewarding.”
The architectural trends session will be held on March 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in Monterey, Calif. iQstor executives will also be available to answer any additional questions and showcase new storage technology for small to mid-sized businesses at the conference.
